O SENSEI'S THOUGHTS

I want to careful people to listen aikido voice. That's not the intention for correcting other people's mistakes, but for correcting our mind. That is aikido mission and that should be your mission, too.

In aikido,  there is need to have consciousness for peace for all people in the world, no consciousness of man who wants to be strong or who trains only for defeat an enemy.

People who want study aikido shouldopen their minds, listen God's  sincerity through aiki and practise very diligent. You should understand big enlightening of aiki, practise it  and make it the best without disturbance. Let your  strong will start cultivate your mind.

When en enemy tries  to fight with me, more exactly, with Universe, he has to disturb Universe harmony. Because of that, he is already conquered in that moment when he decided to fight with me. Measuring of time – fast or slow – doesn't exist.

They who have bad and disharmonious mind, are already conquered since the beginning.

The term „aikido“ has become from three japanese signs,  合 気道 : “ai”, “ki” and “do”. The connotation of these signs is usually translated as “harmony”, “energy” and “way”, so the term “aikido” can be translated as “the harmony way through the energy”.  Another interpretation of these signs is “harmony”, “spirit” and “way”, which can be translated as “the way of spiritual harmony”. Both translations means that aikido techniques are developed to control the attacker, so they can change over his energy instead blockade. (The korean martial art known as “hapkido” uses the same three signs: some people think that’s the history correlation through “daito rju”, the main source of aikido techniques.)

Morihei Ueshiba has developed aikido with base on daito ryu aikijutsu including movements, by using jari (spear), djo (short stick) and juken (bayonet). The biggest influence is using katana (blade). In many cases, aikidoka (person who trains aikido) moves as armless fencer. Aikido hits “shomenuci” and “jokomenuci” comes from attack with weapon (arm) and techniques results are similar as techniques of taking (or deduction) of the weapon (arm). Some aikido schools don’t train with weapon (arm), and other, like Iwama Ryu School, train with bokken (wooden blade), djo and tanto (knife). In most styles, all techniques can be done with blade.

Minoru Mocizuki come up with aikido on the West, in France, at 1951. In Great Britain aikido “comes” at 1955, in USA at 1960’s, in Australia at 1965 etc. All over the world, today exist many aikido dojos for training.
